Interior Design City and Guilds Diploma in Creative Techniques-Interiors
This introductory course in interior design is designed for those who ultimately have a career as an interior designer in mind. The course includes colour scheming, spatial layout and room planning, drawing to scale, lighting, furniture, furnishings and presenting your designs to a professional standard. The course will cover some theory and require you to use historical or contemporary interior trends to create mood boards and interior schemes.
This course is ideal for those with an interest in interiors and design who are keen to explore the subject with a view to career progression or practising at home. This course is for learners who want to develop their skills and who are wishing to progress to obtain a strong foundation in the interior design subject area.
There will be an emphasis on creativity and individual original design, it will include historical and contemporary design influences and architectural features. Students will be taught recognised methods, drawing elevation plans, creating swatch boards, costing as well as researching into paint, textiles,lighting and design materials. It will also include some basic design principles such as colour, line, shape, form and texture.
