Modern engineering requires an increasing level of interaction between engineering disciplines that have traditionally been considered to be largely independent. Employers are consequently seeking engineers and technicians with a wide knowledge of many fields rather than a specialised knowledge in one particular area.
The Level 2 Fast Track Electrical & Electronic Engineering programme provides you with a broad engineering education that covers a wide range of Electrical & Electronic Engineering subjects.
What areas will I study?
In addition to the core Electrical & Electronic Engineering topics, units covered include:
- The engineering world
- Investigating an engineered product
- Health and safety in engineering
- Engineering materials
- Interpreting and using engineering information
- Mathematics for engineering
- Engineering design
- Engineering assembly
- Introduction to communications for engineering
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have achieved both GCSE in English language and maths at grade 4/C or above.
All students will also be required to attend and satisfactorily complete a formal induction period.
Where can I progress to next?
Students who successfully complete this programme will be eligible to apply for our Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma courses. You can also progress onto Advanced Apprenticeships or directly into employment.
