Preparation for Employment (progression) - Care
This course will help you gain practical knowledge about jobs in the care industry and also help you to develop an understanding of the skills needed when entering employment in this area. You will be introduced to the role of a carer and different career options in this area of work.
This course is at Level 1, and is a progression from the Preparation for Employment (Vocational Options) available at Entry Level 3.
No matter what role you start in, or where you are in your career path, there are always opportunities to develop and progress in social care.
Social care is changing to meet the needs of an ageing population and people are living longer with more complex conditions. This means that care organisations are working in new ways, creating lots of new and exciting job roles.
This course is practical and work related, and you will study units and projects that reflect this. Industry visits and potential work experience placements will further enhance your learning and practical application of skills. Our experienced tutors will provide excellent support and guidance along the way.
You will also work towards qualifications in English, maths and ICT at the level appropriate for you.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and with health and safety of our students as a priority, we have redesigned this course to include a mixture of classroom-based and online learning.
