Overview

You will either be based at our modern Bournville campus with state-of-the-art facilities, or our Digbeth campus in the heart of Birmingham's digital media hub. You will have access to industry standard practices, equipment, technology and facilities and unique opportunities to work with external clients and mainstream broadcasting institutions.

Our media courses are awarded by the University of the Arts London and are highly respected.

Course description

This course is perfect for anyone who would like to work in the media. It will give you a broad understanding of the practical aspects of media production and help you to develop a broad range of skills. You will be able to explore digital visual communication through practical projects and aspects of photography.

This is a highly practical, creative and advanced course. It is aimed at developing skills in media production and industrial practices for creative individuals with an interest in the media, who enjoy the idea of making their own products, whether this be a film, music video or news story.

You will learn camera operation, digital video editing, photography, page layout and design, audio production and presentation techniques. You will get experience of using a radio station, as well as other exciting digital software such as a green screen. As well as gaining an insight into the various employment opportunities in the media sector and developing the fundamental skills underlying all media production, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in the particular areas that you are most interested in, for example production management.
