The Creative Media Production BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is a fun but challenging course, designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in current and future employment in the media industries or for progression into higher education.
The course allows you to explore a wide range of media subjects and gain theoretical and practical knowledge of the concepts and processes involved in making media products. You'll experience working in areas such as radio production, photography, television and video production. You'll also learn and develop a broad range of media skills and understanding of the production processes involved in the media products you will create.
Media concepts, audience research and industry investigation support the practical areas of the course, which will allow you to make realistic media products such as radio adverts, music documentary & radio drama, short film productions and TV adverts and music videos.
The course will be structured around assignments, which will allow you to make realistic media products, and will be of increasing complexity over the two years. It will also draw upon the skills and knowledge you acquire and will allow development of your individual talents and abilities.

You will need four GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, one of which must be English language and a BTEC Level 2 Diploma (Merit or Distinction) together with a Level 4 in English language.

This course could give you the confidence to directly seek employment in the media or other creative industries. You may also wish to continue onto higher education in media or another subject or go onto study a Higher Apprenticeship.
