Sport NCFE Extended Diploma

This course is designed to strengthen your skills and knowledge of the sports and fitness industry and is perfect if you are interested in progressing to employment or university. Throughout the course you will study 19 modules covering the sports and leisure industry, including anatomy and physiology, fitness training, nutrition, and psychology. You will develop your skills in coaching, training and first aid.

About the course

This is a two-year, full time course and is held on four days a week. Alongside your sports studies you can join either our football or cricket academy and participate in the National Colleges Leagues and Tournaments. Other units you will study include: technical and tactical skills in sport, the athlete’s lifestyle, sports coaching, practical team sports, current issues in sport, exercise, health & lifestyle, instructing physical activity, exercise sports injuries, analysis of sports performance, rules & regulations & officiating in sport, and organising sports events.

What do I need?

You will need four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above including maths and English or a Diploma in Sport Level 2 qualification.

Where can I progress next?

You can seek employment in the sports and leisure industry in roles such as sports coaching, gym instructor or as a personal trainer. You may also wish to progress onto a higher education course.
