About the course

Are you a recent school leaver who is looking to work within an administrative environment? This Level 2 course will provide you with both skills and knowledge and a highly recognised and valued industry related qualification. You'll gain insights into business operations across various sectors and develop knowledge of administrative functions. Additionally, you'll participate in visits to employers, and benefit from speakers from diverse local businesses. Practical experiences are integrated, allowing you to apply administrative skills through activities like organising charity events, work and shadowing college staff.

The business administration qualification involves studying key modules, including principles of administrative services, business organisations, communication within a business environment, health and safety regulations in the business sector, organising and managing meetings and business events, exploring working relationships within a positive environment, and investigating job opportunities across various sectors.

What are the entry requirements?

Level 1 or minimum 3 GCSE grades 3 or equivalent, including English, or Level 1 Functional Skills English

Where can I progress next?

On successful completion of this course, we would recommend progressing to a Level 3 qualification such as Business Administration or BTEC Business.



Is this course free?

At South & City College Birmingham, we offer a wide range of courses for most age groups.

School Leavers: For learners who are between the ages of 16 to 18, studies will be free.

Adults: For learners who are aged 19 or over, the cost of study will depend on the course or programme that you choose. Some courses may even be free*. If the course is not free, students aged 19 at the start of their programme who wish to study need to either pay their course fees, or take out an Advanced Learning Loan.

*Eligibility criteria applies. There may be an exception for students aged 19 or over that are taking their first full Level 3 qualifications (equivalent to A Levels and Access to HE Diplomas), who could be supported by the Learner Support Fund, or free adult course funded by the WMCA. Higher Education: If you are planning to undertake one of our Higher Education courses you can apply for a loan with Student Finance England, or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan with the college to support towards your course fees.
