About the course

This A Level equivalent Business course is a full-time, two-year programme for students aged 16+. It has UCAS points widely recognised by universities and employers. This qualification helps to develop skills, knowledge and the depth of understanding you need to prepare you for entry into employment and to gain entry to higher education. This qualification should be taken alongside two other A Level subjects and fits well with law, politics, media, film, English language and literature, depending on your career plans.

The course includes mandatory units that cover key aspects of business, such as the business environment, marketing, business resources, and business communication. Additionally, students have the opportunity to choose from optional units, including training in the business workplace and recruitment and selection. This comprehensive curriculum ensures a thorough understanding of essential business concepts and allows for specialisation in specific areas of interest.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need 5 GCSE Grades 4-9, including English and maths. Other subjects that combine well with business are law, English, photography, politics and film studies.

Where can I progress next?

A Level courses are designed to prepare you for higher education and beyond, be it a degree, research or a wide range of careers. You may want to consider an apprenticeship or seek employment within the sector.
